Monday Morsels #2

Oy vey, what a bad blogger I’ve been lately. I hope it’s resulted in me being a good mom and wife since that’s where all my attention has been going! My apologies for the lack of posting recently, I promise I’ll try harder to be consistent. But here’s a little of what we’ve been up to lately (besides the big cookie project) and a few links at the end for today’s Monday morsels!

Clare had her 4 month check up recently and is basically a long and lean girl. She’s in the 85% for length (25.5 inches) and the 27% for weight (13 lb 6 oz). She had another round of shots and had a fever that night, which was our first experience with her not feeling well and giving her medicine. No fun! But at least she had some cute cupcake bandaids.

She has also started teething, which means she’s chewing on everything she can get her little hands on. Mostly fingers. And cold teething toys. And the occasional tupperware lid.

Jason had a bowling outing for the Jr High youth and Clare and I tagged along. Woohoo, baby’s first bowling trip! I really wished they had some tiny bowling shoes for her. How cute would that be? She doesn’t look too thrilled here (just woke up) but seemed to be intrigued by what everyone was doing. Even though Jason was the only one who actually broke 100…

Clare has also started babbling and storytelling a lot more. She has gotten a much stronger grip which makes her toys much more fun to play with, especially the noisy ones. She loves this silver rattle and not gonna lie, it looks like a tiny dumbbell so it cracks me up when she starts lifting it!

Lastly, Jason has started playing his guitar for her and she’s so intrigued! It’s the sweetest thing, especially when he plays songs that we sang to her while she was in the womb. Oh the mom emotions!

PS: Happy Michaelmas to everyone! It’s the day that we celebrate St. Michael the Archangel and all the angels. I ate some of my favorite carrot soup today which made me think of one of my favorite bloggers, Haley at Carrots for Michaelmas.

And here are some fun links to check out:

-LOVE this fun little treat for Halloween time. I think I’ll have to make these when Clare is a bit older.

-Check out this video of a sweet man with Cerebral Palsy who has an amazing and unique talent.

-For any fellow Gilmore Girls fans, here are some charts that you should enjoy!

-Fall wedding season is upon us at work – busy times! You meet all sorts of people and see all kinds of things, but luckily I’ve never experienced any of these!
