Hi everyone! It’s that time for another Monday Morsel update – here’s what we’ve been up to lately!
My dear friend MP and her sweet son came over for our first play date at the new house. We had a great time catching up, having mom talk, and playing with our kiddos. I’ve found that Clare definitely needs to learn what the word “gentle” means because she’s quite the grabby one who likes to pull hair, noses, ears, and whatever she can get her hands on. It’s a work in progress. I made us some yummy BLT’s for lunch along with broccoli cheddar soup (recipe coming tomorrow) and some chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwiches. The kids (and mamas) had such a fun time! They were especially enjoying MP’s toy phone antics.
Most of our new living room furniture has finally been delivered – woohoo! It’s so nice to have a sofa again! Plus it reclines, which is always a comfy plus. We got a whole new set with a sofa, love seat, coffee table, end tables, lamps, TV console, plus a new TV for an amazing price. (love you, Rooms to Go!)
The last few days have given us beautiful weather here in DFW with highs in the 60s and 70s. Needless to say, we’ve taken advantage of that and taken a few walks and checked out the neighborhood park. Clare especially loves the swings! Plus I’ve gotten to meet some more families in the neighborhood which is great!
Speaking of Clare, she’s continuing to grow like a weed. She keeps us on our toes and is still pulling herself up on everything imaginable. She’s also been helping me with laundry (aka: pulling things out of the basket) and likes to explore the tupperware cabinet while I’m working in the kitchen.
Yesterday was the anniversary of mine and Jason’s engagement. It honestly feels like just a few years ago, not 2008! I’ll have to write more about that story and meaning behind the location, but it was a beautiful proposal, a total surprise, and was definitely the best decision ever.
As for what’s to come, we’re going to DC this week for the annual March for Life! This will be my 9th consecutive year to attend and I am looking forward to it once again. Although, I really look forward to the day when we don’t have to march for this cause! Please pray for safe travels for our little family and all who are making the trek to attend. This will be our first time flying with a baby so fingers crossed that all will go smoothly!
And now for some linkage as per usual:
I thought that this letter to the wives of youth ministers was sweet – I can totally relate and loved the last 6+ years in those shoes.
We Texans love our state so much. Sometimes I forget how huge it is, but here’s some perspective if you ever wonder.
This makes me want to learn how to sew. And go to Disney World. How adorable!
This is an amazing and eye-opening story about a man who was trapped in his body for years. He was totally aware of everything and overcame it. Mind blowing!
Any fellow olive haters out there? Apparently there might be a reason for our disdain.
Here’s a sweet reflection about how motherhood makes everything different. Spoiler alert: it’s in the best way ever!
Lastly, if you’re going to the March for Life, here’s a handy guide for what to wear. Thankfully it isn’t supposed to be as dreadful as last year!
